Welcome to HOTEL AMORE INC., a place I created so we can talk about all the fun, whimsical as well as finer things in life. These things come from the world of the internet, via traveling, seeing and meeting artists and galleries, interesting individuals that cross my path. The range of topics spans from fashion to what’s good in culture, the top spots of the world, art and books, and whatever else is crossing my mind to make this a place of escaping from the ordinary to extraordinary delight and boundless inspiration. Have fun!
Visual Chair Plaisir Numero Deux
Last week, we explored vintage interior platforms, and as promised, this week, let's dive into smaller vendors. I'll be switching things up, showcasing a bigger range of chairs. My Instagram savings list is filled with various vendors and small accounts and I had a hard time curating this selection! The below offers a mix of location and budget, from more affordable to hyper-expensive, from Berlin to Milan to Paris. Generally the idea is that the pricier ones serve the purpose of either saving up for or, if unattainable, training the eye for really good design.
Studio 3000, Amsterdam

Nella Beljan Gallery and Showroom, Berlin
My dear friend Nella Beljan has one of the most beautiful spaces in Berlin: Her impeccable taste translates to everything from fashion to interior design and spaces, as well as visuals that she regularly curates for exhibitions in her gallery. I have already bought some great things from Nella - most recently, I acquired amazing jewelry by Azul Malin and an incredible set of cutlery.
For everyone who is or will be in Berlin: Nella will have various interior exhibitions in the next three months, marking the beginning of a new series. Nella is curating the most interesting contemporary positions in the field of interior design. I had a really hard time choosing from her current pieces, please find some impressions below. We can see a set of two vintage George Nakashima chairs, a Hans Brattrud vintage Scandia Chair, Kuramata Sing Sing Chair, little chairs from Tapiovaara, and Loes.Beta chairs - for more information, it's best to write her a DM or visit the space (check out opening times on Instagram).

Specializing in Eames and Togo chairs, Lucas once acquired stunning Eames pieces in a light baby blue with white stands for our friends. I had never seen this model before. Furniture Archive
If you're eager to explore exceptional furniture, there are countless accounts out there. One that I particularly like is Furniture Archive, dedicated to the past, present, and future of designed objects. Their mission is to study, share, and inspire design. On their Instagram, you'll be introduced to some of the most iconic furniture ever made. Additionally, they sell a select number of pieces.

My friend C. just sent me the link to a beautiful chair exhibition A Chair And You that happened in Lausanne in 2022-2023, with chairs from the collection by the famous art collector Thierry Barbier-Muller. He sadly passed shortly after the show, but there is a book and you can also see a virtual tour of the show!
I will share more of this - if you like - in the future. I am thinking of covering different focal points such as object themes like beds, tables, shelves, carpets, as well as specific design focuses such as vintage IKEA, introductions of series from famous designers like Vico Magistretti with Artemide, Cassina, Kartell, and similar topics :)
I hope this inspired you!
Have a great weekend,
LKD
